Chefs Evening, the Southeastern Louisiana University Foundation’s largest annual fundraising event, returns on Sunday, March 27.
Chefs Evening brings together the area’s top chefs, caterers, bakers and mixologists for a unique dining experience, made possible in part by Platinum Sponsors First Guaranty Bank and Louisiana’s First Choice Auto Auction.
Guests can savor delicious food, sip on tasty concoctions, bid silently, and even have a toast with Southeastern President John L. Crain.
At the end of the evening, guests will vote for their favorite dishes, and the restaurants awarded the “Best Salty Dish” and the “Best Sweet Dish” will win the Chefs’ Evening prizes.
All funds raised at the Chefs’ Night go directly to scholarships and university programs.
“The Chefs’ Night has become a university tradition and a vital part of the Southeastern Foundation’s mission to secure financial resources for the critical needs of our students and our university programs,” said Wendy Lauderdale, vice -president for university advancement.
“Our guests experience delicious cuisine from dozens of the area’s best restaurants and caterers, an open bar, a grand silent auction, and a unique opportunity to mingle with friends, all while supporting the university and its student success” , she added. noted.
For sponsors and VIPs, the evening will begin at 4 p.m. with the President’s Toast, an intimate gathering at the President’s Residence featuring exclusive hors d’oeuvres from the chefs of One Thirteen Restaurant and personal wine selections from Fear.
At the conclusion of the toast, attendees will head to the Southeast Pennington Center for the main event of Chefs’ Night, which runs from 5:30-8 p.m.
Many regional restaurants will be taking part in the Chefs’ Night for the first time, while several local favorites are making a comeback: Cate Street Seafood Station, Cena, Champagne Beverage, The Crescent Bar, Eddie’s Famous Frozen Custard, Jacmel Inn, Lee’s Drive In, Oak Knoll Country Club, Our Mom’s Restaurant and Bar, Pappy’s Stowaway Café, Roux & Brew, Sarita’s Grill & Cantina, Southeastern Catering, The BLVD Lounge and Grill, The Cakery, The Cocoa Bean, The Depeaux, Trey Yuen Cuisine of China and Walk – On’s Sports Bistreaux.
