Five-time champion Mumbai Indians will look to extend their dominance by winning the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise, after retaining its four core members including Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard, bought a total of 21 players in the mega auction.

IPL’s most successful franchise has made some smart overseas purchases including Tim David, Dewald Brevis, Riley Meredith and Fabien Allen. MI have also splashed out a whopping sum of INR 8 crore on Jofra Archer express pacer but it has been confirmed that it will not be available for this year’s edition.

In this article, we are going to predict the top four combinations of foreign MI players for IPL 2022

1.Kieron Pollard

West Indian all-rounder Kieron Pollard who has been an integral part of MI for several years has been retained by the franchise at a cost of INR 6 crore. Pollard has been the backbone of MI’s lower middle order for the past few seasons and will also be looking to emulate his performances in the coming season.

Pollard, in 178 IPL games, scored 3,268 runs on 150 hitting. The 34-year-old hitter played some of the most incredible shots, including his 60 runs on just 32 balls he made in the final of 2013 IPL against CSK. MI was struggling at one point, but eventually won the match by 23 points and won the title as well.

In previous seasons, Pollard alongside the Pandya Brothers had a habit of tearing down opposing bowlers. MI lost the Pandya brothers, so Kieron Pollard’s role will become much more important this season.
