More than a third of mums say G&T is their favorite drink to celebrate Mother’s Day

When it comes to alcoholic beverages in general, one in five mothers enjoys a specialty drink at least four times a week.

Mothers voted for lemons (35%) over limes (27%) when asked what completes the perfect G&T – with one in five preferring a combination of the two.

The Craft Gin Club poll of 2,000 mothers found 39 per cent would opt for family time at home over dining out this Mother’s Day.

A quarter (25%) preferred to spend time for themselves, with 13% hoping to spend time pampering themselves.

It also emerged that over a quarter (26%) would prefer not to have gin toppings – but for those who do, the top 10 included lemon zest (22%), strawberry slices (21% ) and raspberry slices (17%).

Others would opt for dried orange slices (14%), juniper berries (14%) and dried grapefruit slices (10%).

For the offspring on a tight budget, the majority of mums agreed they’d rather have the perfect cocktail at home than one at a bar.

Sarah Willingham, of the Craft Gin Club, said: “We are delighted to see that gin is still high on the wish list for mums celebrating their special day this year.

“Whether it’s quality family time or some well-deserved ‘me time’, with Craft Gin Club, mothers can afford high-quality gins poured exactly to taste, and paired with tonics and premium toppings to enjoy. Mother’s Day.”

The Craft Gin Club has announced that its latest competition will offer a chance to win over fifty prizes, including a full year of Craft Gin Club and Bloom & Wild membership, bottles of premium craft gin, bundles of bespoke gin for Mother’s Day and vouchers to spend at the Craft Gin Club store.
