Join the staff at the Barker Museum in Fredonia for a tour of the historic photography exhibit on Monday from 12-4 p.m.
The McClaren collection of vintage cameras and equipment is on display, along with many types of photographs dating back to 1839. This exhibit will close at the end of October. Visitors are invited to try their hand at an activity popular with children’s summer programs: silhouettes are drawn on paper and reduced with the help of a pantograph. The resulting image is cut out and placed on cyanotype paper to develop a print. You can even think of ways to make your figure scary!
The next event will be a presentation by the Jamestown Paranormal Investigators on October 22. Recently, this group has done several studies at the Barker Museum to explore possible paranormal activity. Details and more information about this event will be released soon.
The Barker Museum is located at 7 Day St. in Fredonia, and regular hours are Tuesdays from 4-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 1-5 p.m. .org.
